Realities of the Nigerian Technology Ecosystem

A delegation from the Ministry of Science and Technology Gombe State, has paid an official visit to nHub to explore areas of partnership and also, to use nHub as a model in setting up a technology Hub in Gombe State. The delegation led by the Director Information Communication Technology in the Ministry, Mr. Gideon Maidawa, described nHub as a good background for the nurturing of startups and talents as he was impressed at the environment it provides for young people to learn, create and connect.

Our partner, Segun Oruame, CEO, Qitech Technologies Limited a tech-company, is a market aggregator drawing on its strategic local and foreign partners to undertake critical ICT projects, who accompanied them on the visit spoke highly of innovations coming out of the Hub and particularly about the locator app (logicaladdress) being built by Retnan Daser, one of the developers at the Hub. The app is in an effort to give Nigerians a definable address.

In his comments, Theodore Longji, Lead Research & Development/Partnerships at the Hub said “One of our value propositions is that quality products can be developed here at cheaper rates, without going far for development as our outsourcing unit is capable of developing and deploying any kinds of solution”.

As the number one technology innovation hub in the North, nHub is still nursing the goal of rewiring, strengthening, expanding and the tech ecosystem in this part of the country.
